Contest

Welcome to arguably the most intense ChardZ mode of them all. Contest is where bold claims and daring bluffs decide the victor. It’s a head-to-head duel of nerve and numbers. One misstep can change the game in a heartbeat.

Objective

Find your opponent’s King or send all 16 of your opponent’s cards to the defeated pile.

Setup

Both players must shuffle and place their cards face down in a pile. As the game progresses,
each player will have their own defeated pile which goes next to their main pile.
The player with black cards (white pieces) will declare first. The player with white cards
(black pieces) will declare first in the next round.

How to Play

1. Players shuffle and place their cards face down. Players then pick up their top card and take turns declaring what it is.(Bluffing is allowed.) The card with the higher declared number wins the round.

2. The winner’s card goes to the bottom of their Main Pile, while the loser’s card goes to their Defeated Pile. If tied, players keep drawing until a winner emerges.

3. Players may bluff to hide their King or win a round. If a player suspects their opponent is bluffing, they can call for a reveal. This forces both players to display the cards played in that round.

4. Players caught bluffing must either reveal their Defeated Pile (losing if the King is there) or display next round’s top card. If the accuser is wrong, one of the same consequences is chosen for them. Falsely accusing two turns in a row results in a one round ban from calling for a reveal.

5. The game ends when a player finds their opponent’s King or sends all their opponent’s cards to their Defeated Pile.

Remember: if you draw your King, bluffing is the only thing that can save you.

See what you can get away with. Your opponent may not trust you, however a false accusation is costly!

Try not to lose too many rounds. You can never get a card back from the defeated pile.
